Ten Tips for Winter Swimmers
1. Always bring a friend.
2. Warm up your muscles before you go into the water.
3. Let your body cool down after the sauna and before you go into the water.
4. For your first time, just take a quick dip.
5. Dress warmly after the swim.
6. Drink warm beverages and enjoy yourself.
7. Never go into the water while sick or under the influence of intoxicants.
8. Wear a wool hat or knitted cap, gloves and special shoes if necessary.
9. Never jump in the water headfirst.
10. How many times you go into the water, how long you stay and whether you do it after the sauna or not are all individual choices. You should listen to your body to learn what works best for you.

A Dollar Tree store manager is facing charges after a confrontation with an extreme couponer turned violent in Tennessee earlier this week. The incident, which happened Wednesday at the Dollar Tree in Germantown, was caught on video. “It’s a little fuzzy,” Melissa Monzo-Marte said about her eye.” As you see I have broken blood vessels and a fat lip.” Melissa is an extreme couponer. She says she and her friend, Jennifer Hill, got more than they bargained for when they tried to cash in on some deals at the Dollar Tree in Germantown. “She was getting ready to buy 25 Advil and I think about 25 Olay bars,” Melissa said. The two women say the store manager refused to honor their coupons, despite a sign by the front door that says Dollar Tree honors manufacturer’s coupons. “We were told we were harassing her (the manager) using those coupons and she threatened to call the cops,” Jennifer said. The resistance came as a shock to Melissa and Jennifer who are no strangers to the coupon game. They have been recognized for donating hundreds of dollars worth of goods to charities, and they say they save their families thousands of dollars a year. They even have their own Facebook page called the Desoto County Coupon Club. So Jennifer says she knows her coupons should have been accepted. After asking why her coupons were rejected and getting no answer, she decided to hit the record button on her iPhone. In this video, we teach you how to efficiently and effectively collect a ton of coupons. Method 1: Buy as many newspapers as possible. Collect the inserts inside. Recycle newspapers. Method 2: Buy 1 newspaper and ask the deli/grocery/bodega/newstand owner/employee if they are going to throw away any newspapers that night. It’s best to buy your newspapers at night since they will be more inclined to let you have it. During the day it’s still possible that they can make a sale. So spend your efforts in asking at night at the many 24/7 places. (or the ones that close really late). Method: 3: Do your best to establish a relationship with the deli/grocery/bodega/newstand owner/employee. They may be your ticket to a plethora of coupons. Be friendly and just ask how they are. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Don’t be afraid to establish rapport. The worst they can say is “no”. And you lose nothing with asking. Here’s a tip if you’re shy, like I was. I thought of it as helping them get rid of their old newspapers. I was doing them a service and a favor. If they said no, it was because they want to throw them out themselves.
