Obese and overweight children and their families in British Columbia are being offered more support with the launch of a new provincial initiative that encourages healthy and active lifestyles.

I volunteer in a children’s classroom and I need to create a game or activity to promote healthy eating in children. But, I can’t think of anything. PLEASE Help
Answer by severus You can make a board game. You can make flash cards. You can have them write a song and perform it. You can write a play or have them do it. You can have each one learn about one healthy food, and give a presentation either to your group or the class or going from room to room. You can make hand puppets representing vegetables. You can have them grow grass, so they learn how plants are grown. You could ask to teacher to arrange a field trip to Whole Foods, where they will give a presentation or maybe come into the classroom.

This is the VOA Special English Health Report, from voaspecialenglish.com Researchers say American children now eat an average of three snacks a day between meals. A study found that those snacks add up to almost one-third of all the daily calories eaten by children. And those extra calories could help explain the rise in overweight children in the United States. The study was done at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The researchers studied the diets of thirty-one thousand children ages two to eighteen over a thirty-year period. They found that snacking has increased since the nineteen seventies. And what kinds of snacks have increased the most? Salty, high-fat foods like chips. The study also found greater snacking on cake, cookies and other treats that past generations might have saved for after dinner. The study is in the journal Health Affairs. Nutrition professor Barry Popkin was the lead investigator. He says parents should limit snacks to one a day for children age six and older. He also advises parents and caregivers to provide healthy snacks like fruits and vegetables. Professor Popkin says American schools also need to improve their nutrition. For example, schools may have vending machines that offer what many people would consider junk food. There has been a push for schools to offer more healthful snacks and lunch choices and fewer sugary drinks. President Obama was trying to pass a bill to provide a little healthier food in schools for children.
Republicans are trying to shoot down the bill.
What on earth reason would they have to do that other than to just go against President Obama?
American citizens are having to suffer because republicans don’t want President Obama to do anything to better the country just so they can have a better chance at getting elected.
1. Healthier foods for kids will help them grow stronger
2. Healthier foods will help them lose weight
3. Healthier foods will help obese children not be teased
4. Healthier food will give the children more energy and strength to play sports
5. Healthier food will make them be able to learn better
6. Healthier food will cut down on sick days, so they wont get behind, and will be more educated.
7. Healthier food will make them live longer
8. Healthier food will point blank make them healthier
So why in the lord’s name would they do this?
