Toddlers/preschoolers/children MUST eat the same foods their parents eat.
My son had eating problems with his girls. He got tired of wasting food so he put his foot down about it and changed his tatics. Prepare a normal meal, place the plate of food in front of child, allow child to eat as much as they want, any food not eaten remains on plate/gets covered and placed in refrigerator.
Next meal, remove covered plate from refrigerator, heat food up and place in front of child again. Keep repeating this until child finally eats everything on the plate. Do NOT add food, to the plate, until child finishes everything. In between meals – only give water. Sooner or later child will get hungry and will finish everything on the plate. This worked great for him and no more wasted food.
After he got them to finish everything on their plate, at one meal….he then changed the rules; they had to eat the veggies first, meats next and then starches (starches are fillers and a child will eat these instead of the healthy foods if you let them). Now, all 3 eat anything and everything.
You just have to remember who the BOSS is……….YOU – NOT your child.
My son also did NOT allow junk foods, sodas or sweets.

Naptime Is the New Happy Hour: And Other Ways Toddlers Turn Your Life Upside Down

Motherhood — it’s not for wimps.

Once the zigzagging hormones and endless, bleary-eyed exhaustion of the first year have worn off, you’re left with the startling realization that your tiny, immobile bundle has become a rampaging toddler, complete with his or her very own, very forceful personality.

Just as Sippy Cups Are Not for Chardonnay helped debunk decades of parenting myths to offer honest advice for the first year, Naptime Is the New Happy Hour is a voice of reason for every woman facing questions such as: Will refined sugar make my toddler’s head explode? Is it wrong to have a cocktail at two in the afternoon? And what exactly is a Backyardigan?

With biting wit and boatloads of common sense, Stefanie Wilder-Taylor addresses all these concerns and more. Whether it’s planning easy outings that are fun for both of you (fact: your child will find the local Target just as scintillating as the Guggenheim), dishing the dirt on preschool TV (those mothers who swear their kids don’t watch television? Liars or psychos, every one), or perfecting the art of the play date, readers will find advice, anecdotes, and a reassuring sense of camaraderie to help them survive — and even thrive — during each hilarious, frustrating, and amazing moment.

Toddlers & Tiaras Moms Get Taste of Own Medicine

TLC’s “Toddlers & Tiaras” always shows little girls getting over-the-top dolled up for this beauty pageant and that. The young ladies spend hours in the makeup chair, a few more hours getting their hair (or sometimes, wig) done and then don outrageously expensive gowns and other custom-made costumes. theclicker.today.msnbc.msn.com

Lots of healthy foods require no cooking at all; things like apples and applesauce, other fresh fruits, tomatoes, lettuce for salads. There are all kinds of great salads that make a meal in a dish,, and you can add deli meats to them. I like to make a bunch of hard boiled eggs in advance too, and then you can use them is lots of ways.
Foods that do need to be prepared and cooked can often be made on one day and then frozen, so that all you have to do is to heat them up the next time.
Fried rice dishes are quick and easy. you can find recipes for fried rice dishes at cooks.com (and lots of other recipes too, if you type in wht kind you want.)
Soups in the winter time can also be made in larger quantities to last for more than one day, as they can be frozen too.
I’m into sandwiches lately. All kinds,, with meats and lettuce, and tomatoes, and olives, and, cheese, and pickles.

I could type in lots of recipes and take up a lot of space, but I’d rather give you links to good sites with lots of recipes:
