Whether it’s a need for fitness or a love of the sport that keeps you hooked on golf, it is a hundred percent fun to learn how you can enjoy the best of both worlds!

Getting A-Grade Fit for Golf

There are a lot of golf enthusiasts who take their love of the game a bit too seriously. Aside from getting the best custom fitted golf equipment, the latest golf gadget or even a classic Callaway wristwatch, the one thing that you should not forget is getting your body fit to actually go out and play the game.

Whether you’re a newbie, an intermediate-level or professional player, you need to make sure that you are physically fit so that you can give it your all during a game. It is interesting to note which parts of a golfer’s body is usually susceptible to injury: shoulders, the lower back and the hips – although injuries on the wrists, hands, elbows and knees are also common.

To prevent such injuries from occurring, make sure to keep your body in tip-top shape by exercising prior to putting around the green in your golfing gear.

Golf Fitness Exercises, Anyone?

Again, playing golf and being on top of your game is all a matter of ensuring that you are as fit as you can be. Here are the types of golf fitness exercises that you can do:

Cardiovascular Exercises

When you go golfing, you usually would have a long walk ahead of you. Cardiovascular exercises are necessary so that you  can build up your stamina and endurance. Even with the help of a golf cart, your stamina will be tested especially if you and your buddies become embroiled in the spirit of the game – so do those cardio exercises!

Strength Training Exercises

Strength training is important if you want to put some integrity in your golf swing.  Although control is something that golfers exercise when putting, making that initial golf swing does require a lot of strength.

Stretching Exercises

Finally, make sure to do some stretching exercises to enhance your flexibility in the green.  Pay special attention to your lower back muscles and abs so that it will be easier for you to bend at any point during the game. Finally, after warming up, make sure to perform some cool down exercises that will allow your muscles and tendons to recover.

I’m trying to teach my 6 year old nephew how to stay healthy. I need tips from eating right, to being active and maintaining hygiene. Any health tips you expect a 6 yr old kid to understand.

You should tell them to eat lots of smaller meals and to eat slowly so that their bodies are more able to recognize when they are full. Also its important to drink lots of water and fruit juice rather than soda. Try and encourage him to stay away from junk food and eat fruit or something healthy when he wants a snack. Also teach him to be active, that playing sports and running around is good for you as well as fun. Also teach him the basics of hygiene like showering daily and brushing his teeth 3 times a day. Try and make it all fun for him though, as kids respond more to things that they find enjoyable.

When you are on a low carb fast food plan, eating out at fast food restaurants like McDonald or Subway and staying true to your low carb diet plan can be a huge challenge. Almost everything at fast food places consists of sugar, bread, or potatoes – the main restricted foods in low fat diet plans! That’s torture when you’re trying to be perfect on your plan and not go off at all!

Still, there are also a lot of low carb fast food options that you can have if you get creative. One of the things to keep in mind is that you probably aren’t going to be able to order straight off of the menu. Sadly, there isn’t a section of the McDonald’s menu entitled “Low Carb.” Although, McDonald’s, if you’re listening, that might not be a bad idea! Still, it’s not currently a reality, so we will need to be creative.

Take a look at things on the menu and decide what you like. What did you used to order from the McDonald’s menu prior to your new low carb life? Then brainstorm the ways that you could make it low carb. Can you change that soda to a diet soda? Can you take the bread off of that burger you used to eat whole? Can you forgo the fries in favor of a low carb side? Can you just skip the dessert altogether? You could request for burgers with no cream sauce or salad using low fat dressing.

Also, if you can’t find menu items that you yourself can turn into a low carb dish on your own, you can always ask the counter staff or manager if they can make something for you off menu. I’ve had mixed success with that myself. Your best bet is to frequent one McDonald’s branch the most and get to know the staff at that branch.

Alternatively, you can order home cooked fast food delivered to your place that’s low carb and you can now truly enjoy low carb fast food without worrying that you will gain weight. In fact, you will lose weight even!
