Saving Money With Online Coupon Codes

Saving Money With Online Coupon Codes

What are coupon codes?

You will come across two main categories of online promotions when shopping. One of them is the “coupon code” otherwise known as the “promotional code” and another is a “link only” promotion. Either of these options may be offered by online merchants as promotions.

How do I redeem a “linked” coupon or product?

These do not contain an actual coupon code and have to be activated through the special link. You get the discount after clicking this link (which will take you to the online store) and will obtain the discount as you check out.

How do I redeem a “coupon code” coupon?

It may differ from one merchant to another. There are a number of different places where the coupon code may be entered. In some instances the coupon code could be entered in the shopping cart itself.

At other times the coupon has to be entered on the order review page just prior to checkout. Keep a lookout in the coupon “submit” area the first time you purchase from any website.

What if I don’t see any place to put the code?

Check the FAQ (frequently asked questions) page of the website. This is usually found on the “customer service” page. In case you are unable to locate it in the site itself, call and ask the merchant how the coupon codes on their website should be used.

How do I know if a “coupon code” is working?

The merchant will usually have a page where the amount you are charged is indicated, the amount being discounted after submitting your discount code and any shipping fees that applies. All these details maybe showed on an order page before you submit approval of the charges. If you do not see the discount upon entering the coupon code on the review page then do not place the order.

How do I know if a “linked promotion” is working?

Usually a linked promotion takes you directly to the product itself which is being promoted either at a special price or to the page that is advertising your discount. If this is not the case look for it on the order page before accepting the transaction as a purchase.

Why doesn’t the coupon work?

Most times the merchants omit an expiration date which allows them to monitor the promotion and discontinue it in the event it receives more responses than planned for. Online merchants alter or will discontinue any promotion at any time they want to and therefore it is almost impossible to know 100% of what so many merchants are actually doing with promotions. In the event your coupon doesn’t work, it is best to search for another one on the same site or on any of the many other coupon sites online.

Can I use inline coupons in my local stores?

Physical stores (brick and mortar stores) are not obliged to honor online deals unless the promotion categorically specifies that they will. However, some stores will honor it anyway as a courtesy to you even if you print out the offer and take it to the store. This may depend on the kind of deal and the merchant concerned but it never hurts to ask!

Can I double up on coupon deals by using more than one at time?

At most times it is specified on the coupon code itself that only one promotion may be used per transaction or per purchased item. However, you may get additional savings by looking for a rebate on item purchased with a coupon code. These rebates are available a plenty on electronic devices, computers, software and home improvement items.

This sounds great! But how do I find out about the really good online deals?

A great way to find out about the latest deals is through the forums of coupon sites. By visiting these sites you will be able to get a great deal of information posted on the boards. Remember though it is necessary to act fast too.

Using coupon codes is a great way to save money while shopping!

404 Self Improvement Tips! – Money Saving, Success, Health & Fitness, Love & Relationship Tips! Mission-Surf

404 Self Improvement Tips is divided into four poweful section…

PART 1 – 101 Money Saving Tips
People are always trying to save money, especially with today’s economy. No matter what your reason for saving, through this e-book, you will discover ways never considered.

The price of everything has gone up, requiring people to be more conscientious about money. The problem is that by the time the mortgage, car, utilities, and credit cards are paid, there is little money to put aside. Saving money is not that hard, just a matter of learning all the different options and being creative.

In addition to the obvious of putting money into a retirement fund or savings account, there are hundreds of ways to save money. Although some ways of saving may not seem like much, once you add them up at the end of the year, you will see how substantial the savings really are. Keep in mind that saving is more than a single lump sum of money put aside. Saving is something found in your everyday life by the way you live and the choices you make.

Part 2 – 101 Success Tips
Most people want to be successful in life. There are goals set and then the hard work begins to reach those goals. The question is what is success? Actually, success can mean different things to different people.

For example, a person that owns their own oil changing service for vehicles might set their level of success at servicing 50 cars a day while someone who loves music might consider success as cutting their own CD. In addition, success does not always have to involve money. Success could be getting a good grade in a difficult class or learning how to bake the perfect chocolate cake.

Part 3 – 101 Health & Fitness Tips
More than any other time in history, people are all vying to have the best, healthiest body possible. The health and fitness industries are making billions of dollars every year on herbal supplements, fitness equipment, gyms, and special diets. If you watch TV or read magazines, there is always some intriguing commercial asking for money to help you get into shape.

While many of these options are good and healthy, others you should stay as far away from as possible. Recently, a professional baseball player died at the age of 23. In his locker, a bottle was discovered containing Ephedrine. The FDA just issued a warning that people need to heed.

Part 4 – 101 Love & Relationship Tips
Dating and marriage is different than it was twenty years ago. In today’s society, more than 50% of all marriages fail for one reason or another. Just thinking about that makes “commitment” seem scary. It seems that when relationships are faced with challenges, people quit trying.

The fact is that relationships, whether dating or married, are hard. Things do not always go perfectly, fighting does occur, and it takes a 100% commitment from both parties to make it a success. Often when people break off a relationship, they feel as though something is missing. The “spark” has gone, leaving one or both people feeling inadequate and unfulfilled.

Top Money Saving Tips For Moms

Top Money Saving Tips For Moms

No matter what your current economic situation, it’s important to know how to save money. In addition to safeguarding you when hard times hit, frugal practices are often better for the environment. Here are ten tips to get you started on the frugal path.

Buy used.

If it’s not a safety hazard to do so, you should buy things used as often as possible. One great example is children’s clothes. You can save a lot of money if you buy your kids clothes used instead of new. They’re going to outgrow the clothes in a few months anyway and since kids wear out their things so fast, it doesn’t make much sense to buy new.

Cheap is good, free is better.

Sometimes people give perfectly good things away. Check Craigslist and Freecycle regularly to see what free things you can find. There’s no better price than free! This is another way to keep good products out of the landfills.

Careful coupon use.

Coupons can be an effective way to save money if you’re judicious. Always compare prices – sometimes a store special or generic is cheaper than using a coupon. You can also find printable coupons and coupon codes online. Search for coupons or discount codes on various products before buying. You would be amazed at the results search engines will show up.

Eat at home.

Eating out is expensive and typically less healthy than homecooked food. We’re most tempted to eat out when we’re tired or disorganized so be sure to plan ahead. Spend a little time each week meal planning so you always know “what’s for dinner”. Cook double on some nights so you can reheat leftovers. Keep a repertoire of quick and easy meals that you can throw together in minutes.

Develop a hand me down system.

You probably have nieces and nephews that are older than your kids and friends with kids that are younger than yours. You could all form a coop whereby the oldest kids pass down their clothes to the younger ones. This way everyone saves money on kid’s clothes. Try organizing a swap meet in your living room.

Buy out of season.

Most stores start running clearance sales when the seasons are changing. This is the best time to buy clothes. So buy your summer clothes in the winter and your winter clothes in the spring. If you’re buying clothes for kids, buy them a few sizes too big so the clothes will fit your kids the next year.

Make it yourself.

Even if you don’t know how to sew, you have another way to save money. There are thousands of recipes online for homemade beauty products, spice mixes, baking mixes, health remedies, even cleaning products. You can also check out fantastic books at the library with all kinds of do it yourself recipes.

Barter.

Search online for bartering opportunities at bartering sites and places like Craigslist. Instead of spending your cash, you can trade a service or something else of value.

Frequent yard sales.

Usually when people hold yard sales, they are trying to get rid of their stuff quick and get cash. This is a good opportunity to haggle and get good deals on the things that you need for your family for pennies on the dollar. The trick with yard sales is to be organized, since the availability of items is unpredictable. You might have to buy things ahead of time that you store for awhile. Try to anticipate what your family will need in the upcoming seasons and keep running lists in your purse so you can remind yourself quickly. You can even partner up with a yard sale buddy. If you need a bread machine and your friend needs a new printer, you can scout for each other.
