I really need to get rid of this lower stomach fat. I am a dancer and have a competition in one month. I want it smaller if not eliminated by then. Any health and fitness tips? Please and thank you!

Lower your sodium intake and do lot’s of cardio, make sure that you drink lots of water to stay hydrated. Make sure that you don’t each or drink 6 hours before your competition to have a slimmer stomach.

Have you ever felt like losing weight is an impossible task? You know that exercise and a proper diet are very important, but your lifestyle is just too busy to get to the gym and take the time to prepare a healthy meal. If you have felt this way, you are not alone. I have bought numerous gym memberships in my lifetime, only to see them go to waste due to my busy life getting in the way. I have started many diets, only to see them fall by the wayside because a quick trip to McDonalds is much faster and more convenient than taking the time to prepare a healthy meal. The sad fact of the matter is that our busy North American lifestyle is not conducive to healthy eating and exercise. We need to learn how to easily lose weight at home so that we can rapidly burn off our unwanted fat.

The plan that worked for me came in three parts: Exercise, quick healthy foods, and vitamins.

Exercise

I know, you are sick of hearing about exercise. The truth of the matter is, though, that you need exercise to help you in the success of your weight loss plan. The key is finding a good workout that works for you and is adjustable to your needs as you gain in fitness. What worked for me was The Biggest Loser DVD workout 2. I like that they have real people on there, not just skinny, muscular people who obviously do not have any need to lose weight. You can see the people struggling to complete the exercises. This makes you feel better about yourself, not being perfect at the exercises in the beginning. The workout is also customizable, so you can extend yourself more as you get into better shape and need more of a challenge.

Quick Healthy Foods

Avoiding the temptation of going to a fast food joint, or indulge in chips is not easy. You need to have some healthy alternatives available. When I need a quick, healthy meal or snack, I have found two things that offer an easy solution. First, I make sure I have some nuts on hand to snack on. The nuts offer a good source of protein, and the oils that are in them are healthy for your body. Second, I make wraps with meat, cheese, sprouts, and a small bit of sauce. This offers a low carbohydrate, easy to prepare meal.

Vitamins

Vitamins are an often overlooked method for losing weight. B vitamins in particular are well known for helping the body better metabolize, thus burning off calories more effectively. A multivitamin is also recommended, as we all run short on vitamins and minerals, and a healthy body is one that can burn off fat more effectively.

Though losing weight at home is never an easy task, it is accomplishable. A good exercise program, combined with quality healthy foods and the right vitamin supplements will propel you on your way towards weight loss success.

How to Make Healthy Meals Quickly and Easily; Buttery Citrus Fish and Easy Grilled Vegetables

Yes, you can make healthy meals at home quickly and easily!  Even busy cooks can find time to make these Quick and Easy Buttery Citrus Fish and Easy Grilled Vegetables.  This meal is a lot better for you and your family than a trip through the fast-food drive-thru.

QUICK AND EASY BUTTERY CITRUS FISH

3 tbsp butter flavored sprinkles

1 tbsp lemon pepper blend

1 tbsp lime juice

2 tsp honey

1 lb boneless white fish fillets

In a small bowl combine the butter flavored sprinkles, lemon pepper blend, lime juice, and honey; stir to mix well.  Place the fish fillets on broiler pan and broil 6 to 8-inches from the heat until first side starts to brown.  Turn fish over and spread the honey mixture over the second side.  Broil another 4 to 5 minutes or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.

Per fillet: 106 calories, 7 grams carbs and 17 grams protein

EASY GRILLED VEGETABLES
 
1/2 cup mayo style salad dressing

1/2 cup Italian salad dressing

2 zucchini, cut in half lengthwise

2 yellow squash, cut in half lengthwise

2 bell peppers, cored, seeded, and cut into fourths

If using an electric broiler, preheat. If using an outside grill, cook over hot not flaming coals. No need to preheat a gas broiler.

Mix the mayo style salad dressing and the Italian dressing until they are well blended. Lightly score the cut sides of the vegetables and brush one side with the salad dressing mixture. Place, salad dressing side up, on broiler pan about 4-inches from the heat. Broil 6 minutes. Turn vegetables, brush second side with the dressing mixture and return to broiler for another 5 to 6 minutes or until the vegetables are tender.

What are some cheap, easy, reasonably healthy dinners that a full time student can make quickly?

Question by Samantha: What are some cheap, easy, reasonably healthy dinners that a full time student can make quickly?
I’m moving out soon and will need to cook my own dinners, which i do already at home, so i can cook, its just that i’ll have to pay for it myself!

My favorite foods to eat are potato, eggs and any kind of meat, but i like anything that doesnt have vegetables in it!

If anyone has some good websites for cheap, easy recipes that would be good too!

Quick, cheap and very easy: ramen soup, but “soup” it up with a little leftover chicken, diced, and some frozen mixed veggies.

If you have access to an oven, baked chicken will make you very popular! Serve with roasted potatoes, onions and carrots. Then, you can use the leftovers in things like the ramen (above), or chicken salad sandwiches, or fried rice.

Fried rice: Take some leftover steamed rice, and fry it in a skillet. Add a lightly beaten egg, and some frozen veggies, and maybe some chopped chicken or ham. This is very good with oyster sauce and sam bal (spicy Chinese pepper paste).

Omelettes also make a great, cheap breakfast, lunch or supper. Add anything you like to the insides: cheese, fried onions and mushrooms and peppers, ham . . . chicken (you knew that was coming, didn’t you? LOL!)

Baked potatoes stuffed with spaghetti sauce or cheddar cheese or chicken and swiss are all pretty economical and filling.
