thefilmarchive.org United States Army Basic Training (also known as Initial Entry Training or IET) is the program of physical and mental training required in order for an individual to become a soldier in the United States Army, United States Army Reserve, or Army National Guard. It is carried out at several different Army posts around the United States. Basic Training is designed to be highly intense and challenging. The challenge comes as much from the difficulty of physical training as it does from the required quick psychological adjustment to an unfamiliar way of life. Basic Training is divided into two parts: Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training. Basic Combat Training (BCT) consists of the first ten weeks of the total Basic Training period, and is identical for all Army, Army Reserve, and Army National Guard recruits. This is where individuals learn about the fundamentals of being a soldier, from combat techniques to the proper way to address a superior. BCT is also where individuals undergo rigorous physical training to prepare their bodies for the eventual physical strain of combat. One of the most difficult and essential lessons learned in BCT is self-discipline, as it introduces prospective soldiers to a strict daily schedule that entails many duties and high expectations for which most civilians are not immediately ready. OSHA 10 hour training courses offer Health and Safety Programs. There has been a substantial rise in the number of accidents and injuries at work places. 1.Reduce the chances of injuries and deaths of employees: This is the most important reason of conducting an occupational health and safety program. Any one of the OSHA 10 hour training courses can be adopted to educate all the workers on workplace related hazards. By undertaking such programs, employers can protect themselves and their employees from various injuries, illnesses and deaths. There are many types of work place hazards. Some of the most common amongst these are slippery floors, getting hurt due to sharp objects and falling or lifting up of heavy objects. Work place hazards may sometimes also include medical and fire emergencies. One thing should always be kept in mind. If the preparation is properly done, the outcome would, undoubtedly, be better.

2.Avoid being fined and penalized by OSHA: This is also one of the important reasons to take up these safety training programs. Employers can learn how to avoid OSHA fines by knowing just some of the basic ground rules. This will help them know how to take the necessary precautions. OSHA does not propose any penalty if the employer is cited for something that has a low probability of causing a possible injury or illness. The violation would, in any case, have to be corrected. However, if the cited violation has a greater probability of resulting into an injury or illness, a base fine of ,000 is used. Also, appropriate adjustment factors are applied to the penalty. In the extreme cases of serious violations, penalties can be anything between the range of ,500 to ,000. Such violations have the probability of causing death too. OSHA 10 hour training courses teach employers how to avoid such heavy penalties by enforcing the correct safety plan.

3.Management of a health and safety plan: OSHA has laid down innumerable rules, procedures and regulations for the safety and well being of employees. It gets very difficult to understand and remember all these rules. By undertaking Health and Safety programs, employers can design their own safety plan that includes all the basic measures and precautions. If you have your own company, it is a win-win situation for all; the employer, the employees and the company.
