I’m trying to lose weight and i need some help or ideas of healthy foods i should eat…i know fruits and vegetables obviously…but im going grocery shopping today and could use some help…I LOVE pastas and i know i cant have them because its like all processed and im not eatting any processed foods. would whole wheat pasta be ok? also what are some healthy snacks? because i love snacking

fish is grilled and plain and the jacket potato only had a scraping of i cant believe its not butter on it stuff.

I’m a pretty small person, but gained 15 pounds from some medication (102-117). I’m now determined to lose it. I tend to lose weight/gain muscle pretty quickly, which is good. I’ve been eating pretty healthy the last few weeks and have a goal to lose 3-4 lbs a week. I’ve been keeping a food diary. I’ve tried to cut unnecessary sugars from my diet (I still drink those glass bottles of frapps from Starbucks and I allow myself one chocolate or sweet a day). I don’t believe in depriving yourself from good tasting food, but just eating more healthy food. I’ve also upped my activity. I went from 117 to 114 in the last week, so it seems to be working. I’m just looking for some extra tips.

So far this is what I’ve eaten today:

mocha frap bottle 180 cal

Gluten free waffles (whole grain), 1 waffle 110 calories

Chocolate syrup, 1 tbsp 52 calories

Walnuts, 1 oz 185 calories

Tangerine 40 calories

13 Shrimp 94 calories

Cocktail sauce, 1 tbsp 14 calories

For dinner I’ll probably eat some grilled yellowfin tuna with 2 cups of Romaine lettuce, V-8 to drink and then applesauce and maybe sugar free pudding as snacks later.

Hey, here would be my tips:
Keep track of everything you eat. (You seem to be doing this well anyway!) This prevents you from snacking mindlessly.
Drink a lot of water, since thirst is often mistook for hunger.
Don’t limit the amount of vegetables you can eat. They’re filling but very low in calories so allowing yourself to eat them whenever you want will prevent you reaching for other foods, and also stop you feeling too deprived and hungry which make it harder to stick with a diet.
Cut out any sugary drinks as these give you nothing nutritionally but are loaded with calories.
Above all, don’t give up. It WILL work if you stick with it.
