Hi, I have a health condition where they want us to stay hydrated and drink lots of fluids (water). For some reason, I’ve never liked water and will drink some flavored type of drink that is water based, but I’d like to know from a nurse or healthy living type person, how much better is water than say fruit juice or herbal tea ? Not just opinion, but experience with this or facts or statistics.

The fruit juices are almost all loaded with sugars:
Fructose, Dextrose, Maltose, Sucrose – just about anything ending in -ose is sugar and will make you gain weight.
As for me, I mostly drink distilled water.

Here’s a heath tip…..Adding cauliflower florets to your weekly diet may give you an extra measure of colon protection. Research has shown that a natural compound found in cauliflower may inhibit the propagation of cancer cells in the colon. Be sure to skip the cheese sauce with the cauliflower, because it is loaded with saturated fats. Instead, steam the cauliflower and spice it up with olive oil and lemon or use low-fat yogurt for dipping raw cauliflower ….do you have any health tips I might not know but should?

I have a colon disease so yes it is very important to me. I have something called diverticulitis and it’s very pain full, so my tip to you would be never let yourself be constipated, eat plenty of fiber, and stay away from eating to many little seeds. This condition is incurable without surgery. The colon should be important to everyone I wish I would have known sooner.

I know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but how do someone who works regular office hours 9-5 enjoy a big delicious and healthy breakfast meal when they have to take a bus or the train to work every day? It’s not only the time constraint. What about getting in a morning exercise before work? And how can they enjoy a big breakfast when they know there’s at least 8 hours of work still ahead? No wonder people eat the most during dinner.

replace soda, coffee, juice, etc w/ water
avoid deep fried anything
get whole grains whenever possible
avoid processed packaged stuff, make your own food whenever possible.
do some physical activity daily like walking, etc.
