I’m working on a new menu for a child care center. We want something healthier, considering people now are very concerned about healthy eating more then ever! Any ideas of healther snacks, meals, etc for Preschool Children & Toddlers? Thanks 🙂

What healthy food can I send to daycare for my 13 month old to eat for lunch?

Question by kailismom: What healthy food can I send to daycare for my 13 month old to eat for lunch?
My daughter is 13 months old and has been eating lunch meat, cheese and veggies for lunch at daycare. Recently, she has become bored with her lunches. What can I send (finger food – she likes to feed herself) that is healthy for her? The Graduate meals are expensive and I’d rather she ate non-processed foods. Any suggestions?

Peel and seperate some clementines for her and put them in a small plastic bag that the daycare provider can open for her at lunchtime. Look at some of your more healthful cereal bars with the fruit inside. Sorry thats all I can think of right now.

Carrot sticks, PB&J on whole wheat bread, dried or fresh fruits, cheese cubes, seriously the list goes on and on. Just use whole grain breads to make sandwhiches, and stay away from processed, sugary foods.
